Default need a little help / updates

I havent played Guild Wars in a year and a half. My main was a monk healer, doing gvg and team arenas were my favorite. Now everything seems to have completely changed.

I am buying the other two expansions on Friday and need help.

Is there any complete resource for being a monk to catch up on the things I have missed. Ive looked all over this website, and some things are outdated, and have read things on the forums here that I dont even remember going on, new skills, heroes, little 1 and 2 year gifts i have in my inventory.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just dont want to seem like a newb when I start seriously playing again. Like word of healing not being a good spell anymore when I and many other monks in my old guild used it a lot.

There are no guides

But yes, now there are much better elites for monks to play with.

Elites
================================================== ========================

[skill]Zealous Benediction[/skill]
There is Zealous Benediction , which is basically a WoH in the protection line, it costs 10 energy, it can be cast on yourself unlike WoH, It has the same recharge as WoH and if the target was under 50% you gain 7 energy back.

ZB is often used to heal yourself after you have infused a ally.

[skill]Light of Deliverance[/skill]
Light of Deliverance , is a elite heal party that costs 5 energy intead of 15 , it heals for about the same as heal party , it has a 1 second cast time instead of 2, but it has a 5 second recharge , where Heal Party has 2 ,It also only heals targets under 80% health.

Because of how energy efficient this skill is it has completly replaced Heal party in almost all builds, there are still Eles that run with heal party because they need another Elite.The use of this skill is pretty easy to figure out, you use it to heal your party if a bunch of people are taking small packets of damage.

[skill]Divert Hexes[/skill]
Divert hexes , is an amazing skill under the right conditions,the ability to be able to remove 3 hexes and 3 conditions and heal for 200 ( counting divine favor ) almost completely negates whatever effect the hexes and conditions did in the first place

This skill is very useful at the moment against hex teams,these teams have at least a Illusion Mesmer and a Curses necro and they stack so many hexes on your team that at a certain point your team will collapse.The part that sucks about this skill in this example is that your elite will often spend its time disabled, cause the mesmers have Signet of humility.

[skill]Healer's Boon[/skill]
Healer's boon is another great skill that we have now, it makes healing skills the same casting them that the protection skills benefit from and it makes your skills heal for more,this is also a skill that is used with heal party ( mostly in pve , but still worth mentioning) heal party with this skill, will make heal party heal for +100 and only have a 1 second activation time.

[skill]Shield of Deflection[/skill]
Shield of Deflection is a skill that got a great buff a while ago even with its 10 energy cost it is often seen on monk bars,having a 75% block chance and +armor makes this a good skill to throw on someone about to get spiked by a warrior, or a flag runner running past to drop the flag.

[skill]Shield of Regeneration[/skill]
Shield of Regeneration
Because of the high cost of this skill it is not really seen on monk bars, but this skill is worth mentioning,this skill is used a lot by flag runners as it makes them very hard to take down by a single target ( ranger harrasing at base) Eles can handle this skill pretty easy as they have high energy.

Normal Skills
================================================== ========================

Dismiss Conditions has almost completely taken over the condition removal for monks, monks no longer are using mend condition or mend ailment , i believe the main reason for this is because Aegis is heavily used at the moment so the requirement to get the heal from Dismiss is easily met, also because you can target yourself with the skill unlike mend condition.

Mending Touch is another condition removal that we see a lot now , most of the time its on a player with monk as a secondary profession , because it removes 2 conditions at once it makes it a great condition removal for someone without monk help, like a ganker or basedefender and also makes save some energy because the player can remove its own condition
This skill is also seen on a Restore Condition monk, as they can not cast RC on them selfs.

Reversal of Fortune,Protective Spirit and Spirit Bond are still staple skills of monk bars.

Energy
================================================== ========================

The energy management skills that monks are using now a days are mostly Glyph of lesser energy, Auspicious Incantation and Channeling.A while back the inspiration line took a hit so that meant skills like mantra of recall,power drain and reveal hex are no longer enough to help with the energy.

Hope that helped, might have wrote too much, but i have nothing else to do :|
